Virginia Vs Clogher Valley

Match Report
Virginia RFC Under U14s travelled to Clogher Valley on this damp morning where they were to take on their first league game of the season, technically it was there second as Ballyshannon conceded last week. Virginia started very strong, within four minutes Virginia were on score sheet with an opening try by Nathan Tobin under the posts & converted by Malachy Walker. The second try wasn't long coming scored by Mathew Buyers a pick n go straight through Clogher Valley pack to score under the posts. Virginia fought well in the ruck by Kieran Duffy & Conan Fitzpatrick with a great pass by Oscar Erikson to Nathan Tobin to score under the posts for the third time and converted by Malachy Walker. Virginia's tackling and defence in this game was second to none. Darren Kavanagh produced another good tackle on a Clogher Valley player who spilled the ball from which Glen McCabe jumped on the ball, good rucking by Aidan Kiernan and Gordon Lochadan another good quick pass by Oscar Erikson to Jack Carroll who made good forward yards to score Virginia's fourth try beside the posts and converted by Malachy Walker. The players were making it easy for Malachy Walker to take his conversions
Virginia where well organised and disciplined, displaying great team work. Mathew Byers forced a good turn over ball back to Gordon Lochaden who passed it out to Mal Walker who popped pass to Nathan Tobin to score his third try under the posts.
First half 35-0

Second half started like the first half, a very good run by Tyrone Tynan to the corner but he had no support and penalty was given away for holding on, he was only 10 meters sort. Clogher Valley tried to run the ball from there penalty but the ball was dropped forward, ref played advantage were Cillian Smith pounced on the ball, quick ball out back for Mal Walker to score another try, he had also options to pass it to Ben Curran & Tyrone Tynan as they were in support, either of the guys could have scored. First conversion missed by Malachy Walker, score 42-0. Virginia started to give away to many penalties in their own half and ended up giving away a silly try but Clogher Valley missed the conversion. Virginia made some replacements Patrick Sheridan on for Eoin Bogan and Tiarnan Walsh on for Ben Curran. The next few phases of play was great to watch leading to Tyrone Tynan scoring a great try, he went for the gap with support from Cillian Smith on his outside and converted by Malachy Walker. Virginia had another great phase of play leading to Malachy Walker running up the line and score under the posts and then converted by Malachy Walker, score 54-5
Virginia made some more replacements for the opportunity of younger lads to get a game, Harry Leddy on for Oscar Erickson, Aaron O Dowd on for Aidan Kiernan, Cameron O Reilly on for Cillian Smith and Declan Burns on for Glen McCabe which made no difference to Virginias defence and attacking game when they came on.
Then Virginia missed a tackle to let Clogher Valley scored a try but they missed the conversion. Virginia had another good phase leading to a scrum , Virginia won the ball and it was kicked out by Kieran Duffy
